Featuring the combined Publish Asia and IFRA India Annual Conferences
and IFRA Expo India.
With the recent turmoil in Bangkok triggering travel restrictions there by many countries, and taking into account the economic crisis, IFRA has decided to combine Publish Asia, its top Asian event which was originally planned to be held in Bangkok in May 2009, and the highly successful annual conference in India into one event for 2009.
The combined event will be held from 23 to 25 September 2009 at the Chennai Trade and Convention Centre.
Under the theme ‘Creating Value in Challenging Times’, the combined event will feature a CEO Conference for senior decision makers, a Production Conferencefocusing on cost reductions, revenue generation and innovation, a Circulation Conference discussing the challenges of circulation management and increasing revenue yield and CTO Conference for IT Heads, Systems Managers in news publishing houses.
The event will also offer two special-focus Pre Conference Learning Workshops on 22 September 2009 on
- Transforming from print journalist into multimedia journalist
- INCQC Tutorial
The conference and learning workshops will be held together with IFRA Expo India, which in its second edition has become the second largest newspaper trade show in the world after the IFRA Expo in Europe.

Asia Media Awards 2009
Chennai will also host the 8th IFRA Asia Media Awards Gala Dinner on 24 September. The awards ceremony at the gala dinner honours the best among newspapers and magazines in colour printing, design, information graphics, photography, special supplements, online publishing and use of cross-media for editorial and advertising offerings.
